The Eco Depot is a membership based, cooperatively run Creative Reuse Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
Every single one of us (yes, all of us) tends to hang on to items that have potential, but aren’t necessarily useful in the project at hand.
I mean, jars anyone?!? 🫙🙋♀️
So, here at The Eco Depot, we collect very specific items that can be repurposed. We then organize them and make them available for our members.
Our members get to:
vote on what items are accepted,
get access to the collected and sorted items for your own projects, and
attend creative and practical reuse events at The Eco Depot
and more!
We are just getting started so now is the best time to join us! Our members are the driving force behind the direction as we move forward and grow, so come build a community resource center with us.
You can call/text Walker at 704-654-2551, email us at thegreenassistant@gmail.com, or fill out a questionnaire here.
What is a Collection Point?
A collection point is an event where we collect and accept many hard-to-recycle (or unrecyclable) items. In fact, we have been setting up Collection Points within the community since 2016, providing an outlet to the public for many hard to recycle items.
Now we get to take it to the next level.
Since we are now creating the space to organize and redistribute the materials, we get to collaborate with local artists and businesses to make the most of the goods that they want to save from the landfill! Members of The Eco Depot even get to vote on item collections. So do you have a collection of materials that you would love to re-home? (Don’t we all?) Send us an email at thegreenassistant@gmail.com or click here and let us know how you want to get involved.
